 End of Year Project

This was a collaborative college project, where I served as the game and level designer. I contributed to making the game more engaging and created exciting puzzles for players to enjoy.

Concept:

  • Fold is inspried by origami, where player solves puzzles by folding and unfolding paper faces.

  • Player play as a character who finds themself in world where everthing is based on paper.

  • Now they have to find their way back by solving puzzles and exploring the world.

What I did:

  • Level Design. - Designed puzzles

  • Game Play Ingredient - Designed new Ingredient

  • Documentaion

  • SFX and sound implementation

  • Particle Effects

Tools Used:

Project Exprience:

  • I joined the team "DARK SPARQ" in October 2015 and took the role of Lead Level Designer / Game Designer.

  • The team consisted of 3 Designer, 1 Artist, and 1 Programmer.

  • We implied a combination of Scrum and Waterfall structure for our work flow, where daily morning meeting were held to keep others in the team up to date on the project as well as what work will be done on the following day.

  • Working with the team is a delight all the team members knew what they had to do and before implementing any new features there were discussion on the pros and cons for the particular feature.

While designing levels

I used to do some paper prototyping first.

The models would be imported to the Engine and used for level testing perpouses as a place holder, while reiterated the level to make it better.

Which then was translated into a 3D modeling software like Sketchup, 3DMax or Maya.

Then the level was given to the Artist to be beautified and make it look more like a finished level.
